The Garden Quilt Show is in it's 4th year (2010). We usually show between 90-100 quilts or quilted pieces including table runners, wall hangings, etc. up to king size quilts. Quilts are displayed on the buildings, between the trees and in the gardens. This is a viewers choice quilt show with 5 prizes given.The top prize in 2009 was a $100 gift certificate to a local quilt shop. Tea is served throughout the day. We serve lunch to a limited amount of people, usually no more than 75. Reservations for this are getting necessary. This is a fund raiser for Families Forever Scholarship in memory of Mary Disse Ballard of Lake Park. Two scholarship of $500 each are given each year. Scholarships are based on a written essay detailing the importance of families in a young woman's upbringing and growth. A panel of judges critique the essay and hold personal interviews to determine recipients.

The RVQ Guild is celebrating 20 years this year and we feel honored to have donated countless hours of time and quilts to local charities and hospitals as well as communities suffering disasters outside the state. Our location at the Woodbury Lake Middle School offers a large show area at an accessible location with complimentary parking. Previous shows have displayed over 100 quilts and have been attending in excess of 500 people each year. We are privileged to have close to 60 guild members ranging from beginners to very experienced. Several members are experienced in quilt design and teaching techniques and many have been recognized at national shows including Paducah AQS QuiltWeek. Additionally, at the show this year we have several Minnesota based quilting vendors, a Quilters Store with quilts for sale and raffle baskets.
